Computerized Personality Test

The computerized personality test used in the Web based test generator is a self reporting questionnaire which includes 220 statements. For each statement the examinee is required to reply whether it is true or untrue for him. The test is based on the CPI test developed in the US in the 50's. The test has been used extensively in the employment field, and over the years much research has been conducted, indicating the high validity of the questionnaire's different dimensions. The test's strength is also in the difficulty to "lie," since the questions do not always clearly reflect the trait or the personality characteristic they examine, and it is difficult to "guess" what is being tested in every single question. The questionnaire takes about 30 minutes to complete, and 30 personality characteristics are derived from it, out of which those that are relevant for each position can be chosen.

Below are several characteristics out of the list of those derived from the test:

  • Responsibility
  • Assertiveness
  • Initiative
  • Service orientation
  • Coping with stressful situations
  • Social openness
  • Sales orientation
